Blog Review: 渦奏 by heidi.

Like I said, it will be a review blog, therefore it is now a review blog.
Been reviewing D.Gray for some time already, but I’ve taken off some posts because I’d not like my private life to be a part of this any longer (Then again, when was it ever private? XD)

So… AS I WAS SAYING!
  Today, I’m going to review the album 渦奏 from heidi..

heidi. is an indie J-Rock outifit who started out in mid 2006.
They are comprised of 4 people, with:

VO : 義彦 (Yoshihiko) 
GU: ナオ (Nao)
BA: コースケ (Kohsuke)
DR: 桐 (Kiri)

Apparently, the 4 of them were ex-members of different bands.  義彦 was previously from Sics, 桐 from kannivalism and ポロリ, and both ナオ and コースケ from カリメロ.  So, they’re actually quite seasoned performers, if you know what I mean

This band has released over 3 singles, 2 mini albums and 3 omnibuses. 渦奏 (Kasou) would be their first full album released since they’ve joined together.
So nyea! I’m going to do a small review on the album :3

I love the bass in all their songs. 義彦’s voice is very refreshing, and has very good control on his voice, IMO. Practically, every song in this album is very awesome.
I really like how 義彦 sang slow in  死んだ世界, and then, suddenly goes to a more upbeat song 少年. The guitar and bass on 鐘の鳴る丘 was really funky in the start that it reminds me of Pierrot for some reason. The drums are really cool in ある日の宣告, and 義彦 sounds very frustrated in this song, for some reason XD (That’s just my opinion) チャールズ is a really long song, and it’s slow too, but I love the guitar solo here and how the singing follows later in a very dark, haunting mood. There’s nothing that can be said more about 泡沫  except that it’s really catchy and it gets in your head after a while (In other words, it’s awesome).

Of all the songs, my favorite picks in this whole album would be 泡沫 ,  ラストピース  and ….
Okay, I lied. I liked the whole album. Every one of them are my favorites.
But I’m personally attached to 泡沫 because it’s the first song I’ve heard from them (This was their first song for a PV released so prolly everyone also heard this one).

Overall, for those who like J-Rock Indie, go for heidi.
They’re a fresh sound to look out for

Right now, am spending my last days of holiday… playing Nocturne.
I mean, that’s the game I played on the first day of New Year.
It’s laughable, really.
Playing a game about the end of the world on the first day of New Year is ROFL indeed.
=P I love the game so far. Am playing Hard Mode (Because I feel that I’m not challenging myself with my games. KH2 was easy even on difficult mode. I felt bored)

Right now, am spreading the love, thanks to Kero.

DGM 143:
Hmmm… This time, there seems to be some progress.
The Generals reign victorious over the Akumas, and the siege apparently has been taken care of. Yet, Allen can’t help but feel a little The Generals are ordered to destroy the Egg, but apparently, the Lieutenant has something fishy planned with Inspector Link. Miranda is captured (NUUU) by Lulubell’s liquid form while the rest of the Generals are desperately trying to destroy the egg and save Miranda (or rather, more like Noise is trying to save her. Socalo just wants to have some bloody action) Johnny seems to have a little attachment on saving Tapp, but unfortunately, things won’t go his way… will it?
Let’s just wait for the next chapter (With hope, Katsura-sama doesn’t delay it)

Anyway, noting about my one week absence, I was in my hometown, now, very plump and happy =) I’ve had a good time there, so that is all there is to know.

And so, I have arrived today with a bloody tag.
And I am not going to tag anyone because… it is a waste of time.

2007’s 10 Events That You Think Are Important To You
Rin says: Wow…

1. Return to Alor Star
   This has been the most heart-wrenching, nerve-driving and agonizing trip of my life. But my heart feels much lighter, away from the world of technology and the world of materialistic desires. I spent a lot of quality time with my family at the place where everything all began, met a lot of people I have not seen in a long time and spiritually recharged. The world is indeed, a beautiful place.
2. Death of 3 Former Schoolmates
   Their recent deaths, Reshween, Easwari and a girl that I’m not very close with, has apparently shaken my grip on life, just as I was recovering from the loss of another. I realize how much it hurts to regret not being able to say anything to them before they go. Then again, Death is such an unpredictable character. God bless your souls. You will be truly missed by us all.
3. Yuu’s Birthday Commemoration
   On November, a group of friends gathered together to celebrate Yuu’s birthday online. This would be the 2nd birthday he isn’t here with us. To Aya, Yuu’s birthday means a lot to her. And so it does to the rest of us. It makes us appreciate the fact that our group is such a closely knitted team of people from different places, and because of one person, we’re even closer than we are today. Yuu, you are truly lucky, to have us loving you, and we are truly lucky to have had you love us.
4. Choir For Merdeka
   Those few days of training and meeting new people has brought me closer to a few people I never would have thought meeting in college, and has given me the chance to prove that I can live up to expectations… if given the chance to. To my wonderful choir group, I love you guys, loads =) To Neko-senpai, NYUU~!
5. Comic Fiesta (The Whole Trip There and Back)
   It was an event not to be forgotten. I made a lot of new friends, learned a lot of new things, reunited with former schoolmates and bonded even closer with my fellow Alices. This is one event I would never want to forget.
6. Gathering At My Place with my whole Klang Alices!
   It was short but sweet. A gathering with my beloved Alices, Peisan, Sue-Lyn and Soey, before Peis headed off to India. I was really, really glad that you guys came. And I was even much happier that I got to spend time with you all …
   Next time, we’re meeting up at Peisan’s place. AND SHE HAS NO SAY IN THIS! XD
7. My Sister’s Wedding
   The busiest months of my life. I had to start preparations from January and the big rush was on August, but I’m glad it’s happened and that’s over with. A truly joyous occasion, in my opinion. May my sister and her husband live joyously from now on and forever. (‘Cause I’d murder you both if anything wrong happens XD)
8. Chen and Sathom’s Birthday
   Watching 300 at the cinema, as we all roared like the humans we are, and then, a night dinner at a restaurant for Chen (As we watched her miserably try to blow out candles that lighted itself over and over again XD), I think this was one of the most successful birthdays and an outing all of us spent together as a class. … *sniffs*
   
9. Stayover at Jon’s Place For Project
   GOD! That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about this. It was probably the biggest test in our group where some of us fell out, some of us grew closer, others remained stagnant. It was a test of mental, physical and emotional limits and I know that everyone who was ther, knew what happened that time. It was one full 2 weeks I’ll never forget, but it was also a one full 2 weeks of memories.
10. Thaipusam Steamboat at Chen’s
    Not everyone was there, but it was considerably one of the most memorable things in my life as we all sat round and started cooking our meals, and being very loud as well, rofl. It was a reunion not to be forgotten, so I think.

2007’s Best 10 Movies You’ve Watched
Rin says: This year… was an OKAY year for movies, so I think.

1. Transformers
   I admit. It was good. Enough said. Stop poking me! XD
2. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
   Okay, so I dislike Harry and his little band of misfits, but I thought the movie was worth watching. I liked it even more than the book, and I even watched it twice (One with Dann, and another with my brother and father)
3. 300
   What can I say? I love scantily-clad men who loves the taste of blood! XD
4. The Golden Compass
   To heck with those who disliked this movie, I thought this was one of the more awesome movies with a lot of hidden messages laid within its storyline. Plus, the animals were charming, so shush =P (I have yet to read the book, so shh! XD)
5. Ocean’s 13
   I’m sorry, I have the hots for George Clooney and Matt Damon >_> Kidding. The movie was brilliant and I enjoyed the whole cleverly plotted scheme
6. The Bourne Ultimatum
   Okay, this was the best way to end all of the Bourne’s and one of the best Bourne films out of the 3. I was certainly pleased with how it turned out (And I admit, Matt Damon is awesome. Because I like him. There.)
7. Elizabeth 2: The Golden Age
   The First movie was awesome, but the 2nd one was great as well.
8. Ratatouille
   I swear to God, this animated movie was one of the best I’ve seen in my whole life.
9. The Simpson’s Movie
   This… is pure insanity.
10. Zodiac
    … This one… was really… really… creepy.

2008’s 10 Resolutions
Rin says: I think I’m going to skip on this one. ‘Cause every time I write a resolution, someone curses on it not to happen and it works. All the time!
But nyea, for the sake of this tag, I’ll only wish for 5 things out of the 10.

1. I want to close up the gap between myself and the family. I feel that this gap has been opened for far too long and I don’t think it’s too late to start over.
2. I want to stay close to my Alices, be it the Klang ones or the Jakuns You have been like family to me and I know a life-long relationship when I see one ;D Which is why I trust and treasure you guys more than anything else in the world.
3. I want to make this coming year a year that I can cherish even more than last year.
4. I want to give people more chances than they should have.
5. I WANT MORE SLEEP!! ARRGH!

I would like to write resolutions like ‘To be the next Prime Minister!’ or ‘Get married!’ or ‘End poverty’ but hahaha, I think I should curb my mind first and try to fix the things I have around me first than to fix things that are still too extravagant for me

I can bet with you that #3, #4, and #5 would be very hard to accomplish
As for #1, I’m already doing so, and things aren’t so bad now Which I am glad of.

Okay, my review on DGM 142.
Winters Socalo is hot and sizzling.
Forget the looks, people!

He’s the EPITOME OF SADISTIC SEMENESS!

And Kero is aware of my fetish for sadistic semes (Thank you, for pointing that out )
I mean, not Bishie (He looks like Kisame), but he’s so awesome.
Which dude likes to bathe himself in a rain of blood from dead akumas which he mutilated into nothingness, pushing his hair back, while moaning in sheer joy, NOT BE SEXY?
It’s not sexy. It’s SMEXY.
Yay for Socalo!
And Cross Marian. Nothing beats a man with two Innocences, guns and wearing frilly frocks with awesome, flaming red hair. Ah. Smex.

*cough* Right, back to the story.
So far, they’re just showing the Generals fighting the Akumas, showing off a bit of their power and revealing their Innocence.
I like Tiedoll’s Maker of Eden still. It’s one of my favorites.
As well as General Cross’ Innocences.
And Socalo is my latest fave. What is not sadistically sexy about that man?
Klaud Nine… I was expecting better… but a parasitic giant monkey called Lau Jimin?
… Erm… kind of a disappointment but oh well, she’s a good looker.
And then, there’s like only a page of Allen.
And that’s that.
Wow.
How short it is.
Katsura-sama is, day by day, getting lazier.
15 pages for one chapter. Tsk, tsk. =P
But ah well, this manga chapter is very entertaining.
Not much development of the plot, but nonetheless entertaining.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be off to re-read this chapter and gawk at the smexy sadistic Socalo. And crap, this song is SO not the right song while reading this.

Of Miso Soup, Chips and CFiesta

Because Yamapi is hot. And you can’t deny that.

I’m too lazy to update of the late.
I have a lot of work to do still, so my holidays aren’t exactly relaxing after all.
And I’ve decided to go offline of the late, because I have simply not the mood to interact with people at all. Unless it’s my Alices or work, that’s a different story.
And I can’t care what, really, people think of me.
You decide.

Anyway, for Charlie’s sake and Peisan’s sake, I will blog for them, the 3 days

Friday:
5.30pm. The day ended as I left to meet up with Kero and Wenji at MG’s. We talked a while and it was good to reunite with my Alices there. It’s a shame you weren’t there, Charlie. It would’ve been more fun with you there.
So we collected the prints around 6.45pm, left for Sunway to meet up with Wenji’s parents and cousin, Jia Li. All we had for dinner was takoyaki and Sushi (I had Kanikuni, Wenji had Salmon and Kero had Wasabi Ebikko). It was a sad dinner, but it was awesome, none the less. We went Sg Wang to look for stuffu for the next day. I didn’t buy anything, considering I spent a lot on printing that day.
And Sg Wang at 10pm, at the top floor, was scary. The 3 of us were followed by these 3 suspicious people, for about the whole time we were there. Wenji and I noticed it earlier, so we tried to go places, and still they followed us. No doubt, we knew they were probably up to no good. It was close to a dead end, then we said we should turn back. If anything happens, I don’t think we have a problem fighting them off (Wenji’s a TaeKwanDo Expert, Kero and I are both gangsters. Just because we are in skirts doesn’t mean we’re weak, k?). Plus the shops are open. We weren’t exactly out of the dead end yet. So, we suddenly turned around, came towards their way, and that’s when they realize that we knew that they were following us. So we walked quickly off, until the escalator. We know they stopped following, but nevertheless, we can’t take our chances. So we sped off, as fast as we could, until we reached Parkson where Wenji’s parents were. I couldn’t call my mum the whole time, so I sent her a text instead, to tell her that I was fine. That night, I spent the night cutting work up, trying ribbons and after that, Kero made us watch NEWS. And Wenji, I can remember all the NEWS members, why not you? Shige I know is awesome with the Chikadzuke lip thing, Koyama is smexy with Love Addiction, Tego is so ghei with the BELIEVE, Ryo is well… Ghei, Massu is so cute and YAMAPI IS GOD. ROFL. I just had to say that. Night ended at 2.30am.

Saturday: 7am, got up and left for CF. Spent the whole day working, then after that, went Karaoke with my Alices (including Rachel) and her friend. Then, we left for Sg Wang to get the pair of Momoe shoes the 3 of us planned to buy. Well, I didn’t get mine yet, but I will convince my mum! … Somehow. Came home, did more cutting work and then, slept around 2am. (We were eating chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiips while working. Yes, Kero. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeap chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiips )

Sunday: Woke up at 7.30am. Left for CF and worked until like 6pm. Met Soey (AFTER SO LONG!) and Sue during the thing. Left for One U at 6.30pm after the thing ended. Had dinner with Kero at KFC, then left for home at 7.55pm. Reached home at 8.45pm. Talked to a few people online to let them know how I was. Group convo’d with my Alices for photos and then, slept.

Well, that’s it that I’m going to update.

the final letter

There’s no way I could forget, even though it’s painful.
…Because even until now, I hold you so dear.
(Cloud, Nostalgia)

Okay.
So the Doujins drawn by Yubinbasya for Zack x Cloud are friggin’ awesome.
I especially loved Tragic Kingdom, Sex Pistols, Died in Your Arms, The Necessity of Happiness, and Nostalgia (The most recently read one. Which was as sad as Tragic Kingdom and Died in Your Arms.)
They all necessarily weren’t extreme Yaoi. 4 out of the 5 are plain clean.
And wonderfully made angsty stories.
Since I’m pretty much bored, I’ll just give you a sypnosis of what I read:

Tragic Kingdom
It’s separated into 3 different timelines, between Zack and Cloud.
A Hard Day’s Night starts off with Zack returning back from his mission, but he feels tormented by the results of the mission. He feels tainted by the slaying of people in the mission, and he didn’t want Cloud (His precious, moo ha ha, who at that time, was still trying to work his way up in SOLDIER) to end up like him. There’s a lot of tension between the 2, especially with Cloud, who is unable to say what he wants to say (His favorite line in most of the mangas is “I can’t say it right now… and you probably won’t understand.”) But it was sweet, how Cloud still says that Zack is the same person he liked, and what he did won’t change his perception of it, as long as he comes back to him. Aww.
Two Alone is about Zack and Cloud getting caught in a snowstorm, where they talked about their hometowns… and Cloud kept complaining how cold it was. ;D I’m not saying what happens next. Ho ho ho.
Cold Rain … Is it me, or does this reminds you of the ending of the new FF7: Crisis Core? Especially with the bloody Cloud screaming (Oh yes. In CC, Cloud was screaming, also bloody) This one starts off, with Zack, halfway dying, then regretting how much he couldn’t keep his promise. The ending… Well, you all should know since you play FF7.

Sex Pistols
It begins with Zack kissing Cloud. Whee. This one’s all about how Cloud finally realizes how much he loves Zack, but was afraid that Zack gets turned off because Cloud prefers men, and Zack likes women as well, and the list goes on. But there’s one point that gets me:
Does Zack really have to rape Cloud just to get Cloud to confess?!
And what’s with the point where after he rapes, then he starts worrying about their relationship turning awry? You should’ve thought of that earlier, you fool
But it’s a really cute doujin, IMO.
We get to see a lot of Cloud blushing over it :3 And Zack looks hot. XD

Died In Your Arms
This one’s set in the time of FFAC, when Tifa and Cloud were managing the place, taking care of Marlene and that little boy. It starts off when the boy asked Cloud and Tifa if they were married, then hinting that there could be ‘various circumstances’ for men. Cloud goes up to his room, to have a drink and get drunk. He reminisces about the time Zack and him were together, and a few flashbacks, and at the end, a present that Zack left Cloud with (The earring), which was his proposal for Cloud, till death do us part, before dying. D:
I felt a bit sad for Cloud AND Tifa in this story. You would to.

The Necessity of Happiness
It’s a flashback story again. I’m not going to say much about this, just that Cloud was whining about how feeble he was and everything was a lie, then Zack comes in and educates him a little with advice, and the end pictures Cloud with Zack’s Sword, as seen in FFAC. Pretty simple story, but it’s good. We get to see Cloud’s jealousy in this one, over how weak he is compared to Zack in every aspect.

Nostalgia

Ah. My most recent one, and also a favorite.
It starts off with Nostalgia as Cloud enters the old Shinra place, reminiscing about where he met Aerith, and what kind of relationship that Aerith and Zack had (A slight hint of jealousy here). Cloud goes back to the dorm, where once Zack’s room used to be.
in the daydream generation begins when Cloud steps into Zack’s messy room, and then, began to remember and wish that Zack was still with him, and how he used to feel while waiting for Zack to return home each night.
inside C begins when Cloud was depressed about failing to enter SOLDIER, and takes out his frustration and anger on Zack, saying that he wouldn’t understand. He was truly envious at Zack, for Zack had everything he didn’t have (Another Cloud factor. A++) But Zack knew and felt that Cloud was just underestimating himself. Because he knew that Cloud was truly better than her was.
side 5 starts with Zack getting promoted and his talk with Lord Sephiroth, and they talked about the good days and what not. Zack (Who also felt like Cloud at one point, because Sephiroth was much better than he was) confesses how Sephiroth had it easy all the time, and then, is hit with Sephiroth’s comeback of the choice of not having freedom.
Side A goes to Zack and Aerith walking together to the Church, where they both shares insights on life together. Nothing much here.
inside Z begins with Zack’s death, then a flashback, of Zack writing letters, which Cloud thought was for his parents. And then, Zack gives him a key, and told Cloud that when the time comes, if Cloud ever feels alone, he would open that drawer. He tells Cloud to keep it safe and it was their little secret. Back to reality, Cloud awakens and remembers Zack’s words. He opens the drawer, only to find the letter that Zack wrote earlier on, to HIM.
my last mail was my favorite. I cried at this part. So shaddap.
I’m not going to divulge this one out, because that would spoil the whole story.
Simply putting, it was Zack’s letter to Cloud. Very emotional stuff.
never to meet again features the scene where Cloud meets Zack for the first time, in the first worst impression of Zack ever (He was caught shagging with another woman. Way to go, you …) And Cloud was telling how vast their worlds were apart, but somehow they fit together perfectly. It’s all a Cloud monologue about Zack and the realization of how big the gape between them really are.

Well, that’s all I can rant about.
I bet all my straight, non-Yaoi readers are all going X__X
But, it’s the truth! D:
Zack x Cloud is so hinted in FFAC, and the new FF7CC.
As well as Zack and Sephiroth (I have the video. As proof. And Valerie also agrees!)
